We see our tax payer funded lobbyist spending our tax dollars for expensive dinners for our own Commissioners, Delegates and Senators. Why are our tax payer dollars being used for dinners for politicians? In addition to the $16,000 we pay monthly, the lobbyist can charge for other expenses such as gas and cell phone expenses.
Why would we need a lobbyist if our Delegates, Senators and Commissioners were representing us and doing their jobs? What can this county do with the $660k wasted to benefit us? More police officers, EMTs and firemen? How about tax relief?
Do campaign contributions with our tax money, and lavish spending, influence other Delegates and Senators that do not rely on Berkeley County for votes?
I will do what I can to remove this position, but until we can, let us hold the lobbyist to the contract that they signed. We need public access to weekly reports about who they contacted and what the outcome was. We also need an itemized report of expenses and the receipts. Why is it necessary to get a FOIA request to get this information? What are they hiding?
